Stone-Edged Gravel Bed by the Deck
A muddy strip beside a deck became a clean gravel bed held in place by hand-laid stone edging.

The problem
Foot traffic along the deck had worn a bare dirt track that turned to mud after every rain and washed toward the yard.
What we did
- Cut a clean line and set stone edging by hand the full length of the run
- Shaped the base so water drains along the bed instead of pooling
- Filled with graded gravel and dressed the surface up to the deck
How it turned out
No more mud tracked onto the deck, and the gravel stays where it was put instead of migrating into the grass.
