Lakeview Pine Removal Over the Water

A tall pine leaning over a lakefront home climbed, topped and lowered piece by piece — opening the Greers Ferry Lake view back up without a scratch on the house.

The problem

The pine stood between the house and the water, tall enough that a bad fall would have hit the roof or the deck below. There was no room to drop it, and the lot fell away steeply toward the lake, so everything had to come down by rope.

What we did

  • Marked the tree and planned the pick before a single cut — rigging points, drop zone and escape route all set ahead of time
  • Climbed the trunk and topped it section by section, roping every piece down past the roofline
  • Bucked the wood on the ground and staged brush along the hillside walkway
  • Cleared limbs and debris off the boardwalk and slope, leaving the lot raked out and the view wide open

How it turned out

The hazard is gone, the lake view the owners bought the house for is back, and the roof, deck and boardwalk came through untouched.
