Fall around the lake is the working season. The ground is dry, the leaves are down so you can actually see the property, and anything you clear or fix now is ready for spring instead of fighting you in April.
Leaves are more than a looks problem
A thick leaf mat left over winter smothers grass, holds moisture against foundations, and turns slope edges into slick, eroding messes. Getting leaves up and hauled off before the first hard freeze protects the lawn you paid for all summer.
The best time to clear and grade
Brush mulching, lot clearing, driveway work and drainage all go faster in fall and winter. Bare ground is easier to read, there's no sap or undergrowth to fight, and equipment gets around without tearing up a soft summer yard.
If you've been looking at an overgrown corner of the lot or a driveway that washes every rain, this is the season to fix it — prices on dirt work don't change, but the speed of the job does.
Plan ahead
Fall work books up across Greers Ferry, Heber Springs and Fairfield Bay as soon as the leaves start to turn. Call early, get a walk-through on the calendar, and head into winter with the property handled.
